'Hunted down!': Trump hurls midnight jail threats in raving Truth Social post

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social in the midnight hours to hurl angry threats at people who have spoken out against him.

Trump responded with fury after the Washington Post spoke to internal and anonymous sources about a fight between himself and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over concerns the U.S. is running out of missiles in the middle of a war.

"The 'leakers' of these treasonous statements are being hunted down," wrote Trump. "Long term jail sentences will be sought!"

Trump rejected the Washington Post reporting about tensions erupting over the Iran war at Camp David last week.

According to the Post, Trump accused Hegseth of misleading him on an "extreme" munitions shortage that could limit military options with Iran.

One of the Post's two sources, both of whom asked not to be named for fear of retaliation, said shortages in long-range guided missiles and air-defense interceptors were why Trump pulled back recently on massive strikes against Iran.

Trump refuted this — but supplied no evidence to support his claims.

"The U.S. has massive amounts of 'munitions,' especially of certain types," Trump wrote. "Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed."

The Post responded to Trump's assertion in its report, which appears to have been updated about 3:30 a.m.

"While the United States has announced new production agreements for some of the most critical munitions, such as Patriot air defense missiles, the munitions themselves can take as long as two years to produce, and there’s no immediate relief in sight for the shortages," the Post reported.

"The scarcity of defensive munitions has had an impact beyond the Middle East. Ukraine is running out of air defenses, and there are few options with which to replenish from Western stockpiles, leaving them exposed to Russia’s long-range attacks."
