Reactions erupted online Friday after CNN's Kaitlan Collins pressed President Donald Trump about why he posted new job data early.
Collins posed the question while Trump was meeting with American oil executives and taking questions from reporters — following reports that job numbers were lagging.
"I said post them whenever you get a chance. I don't know. They gave me some numbers. When people give me things, I post them," Trump said.
Social media users had plenty of responses online:
"FYI this man has the nuclear codes...," user James B. Webb wrote on X.
"Will you post the Epstein files then?" Pennsylvania Capital-Star reporter Nick Field wrote on X.
"Oh that's a safe person to be giving more serious information to," user Josh Dungan wrote on X.
"'When people give me things, I post them.' Quick! Somebody give him the Epstein files!" Writer Polly Sigh wrote on X.
"The Ron Burgundy of presidents," user Walter Sobchak wrote on X.
