Trump Jr. praises black Trump fan for being 'so articulate!' -- and the internet tears him to pieces

The Trump campaign is always happy to tout any support it receives from minorities -- witness Trump pointing to a black man he referred to as "my African American" during a rally if you need proof.

With this in mind, it's not surprising to see that Donald Trump Jr. is happy to point out that his father has now received the endorsement of CJ Pearson, a black teenager who in the past has made headlines for saying Barack Obama doesn't love America.

In touting Pearson's endorsement, however, Trump Jr. praised the activist for being "so young and so articulate!"

Typically, it's not a good idea to praise black people for being "articulate," since it communicates that you are surprised when a black person can string coherent sentences and arguments together.

People responding to Trump Jr.'s tweet were quick to point out that believing it's noteworthy when a black person is articulate is not a good look.

Let's be fair to Trump Jr. here, though: Maybe he was impressed by Pearson being articulate because his own father regularly offers up large doses of nonsensical word salad.
