Trump's prospective jurors admit to being election deniers at defamation trial

At least two prospective jurors were admitted election deniers in Donald Trump's second defamation trial brought by writer E. Jean Carroll.

During the first day of jury selection on Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan quizzed the prospective jurors about personal connections to Carroll or Trump.

"Anyone back on the left gone to a rally for Mr. Trump?" Kaplan asked.

Juror number 68 answered in the affirmative, according to Inner City Press.

"Anyone think the 2020 election was stolen?" the judge continued.

Jurors 68 and 69 said they believed Trump's claims about the 2020 presidential election being rigged for President Joe Biden.

"Two people affirmed they believe the 2020 election was stolen — numbers 68 and 69," New York Daily News correspondent Molly Crane-Newman wrote. "Most of the prospective jurors voted in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. No Truth Social members."

"Number 69 — one of the election deniers — says she has not been vaccinated against COVID," she added. "Nobody says they'd be uncomfortable in a room with her."

Trump has already been found liable for defaming Carroll. An earlier trial also found that Trump sexually assaulted Carroll.

All prospective jurors said they accepted the finding that Trump committed sexual abuse.
