Trump-loving Piers Morgan buried in ridicule after he begs the president to help fix Brexit

Even though President Donald Trump failed to force Congress to fully fund his proposed border wall, failed to silence an adult film star, failed to get Kim Jong-un to give up his nuclear weapons, and has so far failed to strike a trade deal with China, Trump supporter Piers Morgan seems to think that the president could help fix his country's problems with leaving the European Union.

Writing on Twitter Thursday morning, Morgan begged Trump to come to the U.K. and help the country's floundering Brexit initiative that completely fell apart in parliament this week after majorities of MPs rejected one plan after another.

"I've given this a lot of thought and come to the conclusion that only one person can now sort out this ridiculous Brexit mess: Donald Trump," Morgan wrote. "He'd take no sh*t from the EU, or Parliament, or anyone. And he definitely wouldn't lose his voice. Mr. President, my country needs YOU."

After getting widely mocked for this tweet, Morgan later came back on to insist that he was being sarcastic, even though he has been a sincere Trump supporter for years.

"Twitter coming down on two clear tribal lines over this tweet: those with a sense of humour, and those without one, taking it very very seriously," he wrote of the negative response to his tweet.
