Trump-loving Ron DeSantis hit with another racism scandal after his wife hangs out with notorious 'birther'

Ron DeSantis, the Trump-loving Republican candidate for governor in Florida, has found himself involved in yet another racism controversy.

Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that major DeSantis donor Steven Alembik -- who gave the campaign more than $20,000 -- admitted that he called former President Barack Obama a "Muslim n*gger," although he insisted that he was not really a racist.

And now the Miami New Times reports that DeSantis' wife Casey this week attended an event in Florida alongside Trevor Loudon, a notorious right-wing conspiracy theorist who has in the past claimed to have proof that former President Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

"While Obama has insisted he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1961, there are others who claim he was born in Mombasa, Kenya; there’s even a copy of his purported Kenyan birth certificate," Loudon wrote in 2015. "Moreover, apparently trustworthy sources swear that the Long Form Birth Certificate is a forgery."

According to the Miami New Times, DeSantis and Loudon were both attending a meeting of the Broward Women's Republican Club at a Fort Lauderdale Olive Garden on Tuesday night. What's more, the publication writes that "photos posted online show that both Casey DeSantis and Loudon spoke at the event."

DeSantis' campaign has so far not commented on whether it endorses Loudon's views.
