At Donald Trump's rally in Iowa on Wednesday night he spent a substantial amount of time trying to allay fears about reports of his mental decline, at one time telling the crowd, "I’ll be the first to know.”
As has been reported after multiple speeches being given by the former president, has seemed at times "disoriented" while addressing crowds, and has confused former President Barack Obama with current President Joe Biden.
As the Daily Beast's William Vaillancourt reports, Trump during Wednesday's rally kept going back to his health and rumors about it.
“I just took a physical, you’ll be happy to hear… I passed with flying colors. And I took a cognitive exam. I said, ‘Doctor, give me anything you want. I want to take it,’” he told the crowd with Vaillancourt writing the former president mentioned he "aced" his recent cognitive test "five times in two minutes."
Trump also reportedly told the crowd, "But I feel that right now I’m sharper than I was 20 years ago, and I don’t know why. It’s a funny thing, and it’s a very minor thing, but I’m a much better golfer than I was 10 or 15 years ago. It means something, you know? It means something in a certain way.”
Vaillancourt also noted Trump's recent letter from his doctor made no mention of the ex-president's "weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and medications taken."
