CNN's Harry Enten hunted high and low — and was unable to turn up even the faintest sliver of good news in polling for President Donald Trump Friday.
The president's approval ratings have been drooping since his return to the White House at the start of last year, and the data analyst to "CNN News Central" said that he couldn't find a single survey that showed voters approved of his performance.
"You know, we've had all ofthese big events that have beengoing on, and sometimes I thinkit's worth taking the 35,000-point view, right? Thatviewpoint from up in the sky," Enten said. "And we could just see it is the, yeah, you could see it here. Youknow, this is the aggregate ofmy polling datathat, you know, you're lookingat here, and it's just a steadyclimb downward into the Red Seabecause Trump's net approval rating hits a new low. You couldsee it right here, 20 pointsunderwater.
"You know, you go backto January of 2025 — at thebeginning, he was plus-six, thenminus-six by May 2025, minus-nine, minus-14, minus-15," Enten added. "But over the lastfew months, as the Iran war hastaken shape, as those gas priceshave jumped through the roof, Trump has hit a new low. He'sat minus-20 points, which is thelowest point of his second term."
Enten looked for an outlier where a plurality of voters gave Trump a thumbs-up, but he couldn't find one.
"I was justthinking, hey, have there beenany polls recently in which Trump has not had a negative netapproval rating like he does inthe aggregate polling?" Enten said. "Yougo back in time, because thisreally just sort of takes thecake. Trump's negative, anegative net approval rating, every poll since March 29,2025 – that is over a year ago.You can't find a single poll inwhich he has anything but a netnegative approval rating. Thatis 413 days in a row. That ismore than 365. It is more than ayear that Trump has been underwater, not just in the aggregate, butevery single poll."
