Dr. Mehmet Oz, the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, befuddled an analyst on Wednesday by making several wild claims about President Donald Trump's health during the daily press briefing.
Oz was asked by reporters about why Trump gets multiple physicals per year when most other people only get one. His answer raised eyebrows.
"I think he likes the results," he said. "He does really well. He aces the test every single day."
"He's a very meticulous person in so many ways that are often underappreciated," he continued. "But for him to want to know all the numbers and keep on top of it, it's the same reason he calls people at odd hours because something's on his mind; he wants to deal with it."
Oz's comments came at a time when questions about Trump's health continue to swirl. The president recently underwent a physical exam, but the results have been questioned by medical professionals. Trump has also been seen around the White House with bruised hands and swollen ankles, which could be signs of multiple medical conditions.
Pat Ford, producer of "The David Pakman Show," reacted to Oz's comments in a new reaction video on YouTube.
"Well, this was embarrassing," he said.
Ford also noted that Trump's recent public appearances and speeches seem to suggest that the president's health is much worse than he is letting on.
"Have you seen him try to do an interview lately? He always has to resort to the weave because he can't keep together a cohesive line of thought," Ford said.
Ford also questioned Oz's response, noting that Trump's repetitive medical exams would be a waste of time unless there is some reason they're necessary.
"It doesn't make a whole lot of sense," Ford said.
