President Donald Trump took aim at Fox News on Sunday, accusing his favorite network of giving too much airtime to Democrats and suggesting it’s to blame for a tight race.
“FoxNews is spending far too much time putting on the OPPONENTS of Republican Party Candidates, people that love our Country, and have Great Policies and Ideas,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“These American Patriots are being absolutely ‘blurred out’ by the Media, and Fox is doing little to help,” he continued. “That’s the only reason this Race is close, if it is indeed close.”
Trump didn’t say which race he meant. The post went up the same day he headed to Port Huron, Michigan, to rally for Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers in his tight race against Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.
Rogers had a rough Sunday morning of his own. On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” moderator Kristen Welker confronted him with his own 2012 comments about working with “moderate” members of the Muslim Brotherhood, after he had attacked El-Sayed over the group. Rogers also refused, twice, to say whether he considers himself a MAGA Republican.
Trump has endorsed Rogers and attacked El-Sayed on Truth Social Saturday, urging Michiganders to “VOTE FOR MIKE ROGERS!”
It’s not the first time Trump has lashed out at Fox News over its coverage. He has long complained about the network featuring Democrats and running polls he doesn’t like.
