Trump rages at 'totally illegal' New York Times in Twitter meltdown as Mueller leaks blow apart his 'exoneration'

President Donald Trump attacked the New York Times for reporting that special counsel Robert Mueller's team disagreed with the attorney general's summary of their findings.

The newspaper reported that some of Mueller's investigators were frustrated that Attorney General William Barr failed to adequately describe their findings, which they said were more damaging than Trump's hand-picked Cabinet official let on, which backed similar reporting by the Washington Post.

"The New York Times had no legitimate sources, which would be totally illegal," Trump tweeted, "concerning the Mueller Report. In fact, they probably had no sources at all! They are a Fake News paper who have already been forced to apologize for their incorrect and very bad reporting on me!"

The Times described their sources as government officials and others familiar with the investigators' frustration.

The president has claimed before that the Times was forced to apologize for negative coverage of him, which the newspaper has flatly denied.
