Trump revives old FBI-dossier conspiracy theory to attack Russia probe: 'Total fraud on your president!'

President Donald Trump is pushing old conspiracy theories about the Russia investigation ahead of the release of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

Trump has long tried to claim a dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele prompted the investigation into his campaign ties to the Kremlin, although court records show otherwise, and he revived a previously reported story Wednesday morning, a day before Mueller's redacted findings will be released.

The conservative Judicial Watch group is seeking all communications and payments made to Steele by the FBI, as was previously reported last year, and newly reported by conservative One America News Network.

The FBI released 71 pages of correspondence between agents and Steele, who the bureau made payments to for unspecified work.

It's not possible to tell when the payments began, due to redactions, but he reportedly assisted the FBI with previous investigation, including a corruption probe involving international soccer.
