'Something very wrong': Trump hurls health claim at Harris but avoids sharing own records

Donald Trump called on Kamala Harris to take a cognitive test early Monday — after he declined to release his own medical records.

The 59-year-old vice president released her medical report over the weekend, which showed she demonstrated “the physical and mental resiliency required to successfully execute the duties of the presidency," and challenged the 78-year-old Trump to do the same. But the former president questioned those findings in a Truth Social post made at 1:12 a.m.

"I believe it is very important that Kamala Harris pass a test on Cognitive Stamina and Agility," Trump posted on Truth Social. "Her actions have led many to believe that there could be something very wrong with her. Even 60 Minutes and CBS, in order to protect Lyin’ Kamala, illegally and unscrupulously replaced an answer she had given, which was totally 'bonkers,' with another answer that had nothing to do with the question asked."

"Also, she is slow and lethargic in answering even the easiest of questions," he added. "We just went through almost four years of that, we shouldn’t have to do it again!"

Trump also declined to sit down for an interview with "60 Minutes," as every major party candidate has done since 1968, and called for CBS News to have its broadcast license revoked for posting an edited clip of Harris' interview on social media that differed from the longer version that aired later that evening.

The Republican nominee has been raging against the network, which he said had provided an in-kind campaign contribution to Harris with the social media promotional clip, for days since the interview aired.

Trump released a three-paragraph letter in November 2023 from a doctor that claimed “overall health is excellent” and that his “cognitive exams were exceptional," but many observers have pointed out that his speeches show signs of age-related mental decline.

Over the weekend, House Speaker Mike Johnson said Trump's medical records are "irrelevant" to voters, as the former president declined to provide them.
