Trump tried to show off his bone spur to his biographer: 'I didn't see anything'

Writer and researcher Michael D'Antonio recalled an odd encounter with President Donald Trump when the two discussed the ticket he scored out of the Vietnam War.

Wednesday, the daughter of a podiatrist revealed that her father was asked by Fred Trump to examine his son and give him a diagnosis that would prevent him from being drafted.

Dr. Elysa Braunstein told the New York Times that her late father implied that Trump did not suffer from the debilitating foot ailment he's used as an excuse for decades. She noted he indicated her father offered the bogus diagnosis as a favor to the Trump patriarch.

D'Antonio wasn't surprised, but he said that the story might not be known to the president, as it was likely another example of his father bailing out his son.

"You know, the clincher for me was the reference to it being a favor," D'Antonio told CNN's Don Lemon. "So, the Trumps forever have dealt in favors. You do something for me, I do something for you. And these daughters of this podiatrist talked about how forevermore, he was able to call up and maybe talk about the rent not going up so quickly and get a repair made here and an adjustment made there."

Much like the younger Trump, Fred Trump was allegedly good to those who were also good to him.

"I'm not even sure actually that the president knows the truth about this," he said.

The biographer then recalled a time Trump showed off his foot.

"This is the odd thing: He may have been examined," the biographer said. "He took off his shoes and tried to show me these bone spurs. I didn't see anything."
