Republican Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), a staunch ally of Donald Trump, wasn't always a fan of the former president. And he got a reminder of that on Saturday as political onlookers posted quotes, videos, and memes to debunk his claim of having a "long memory."
Vance, who recently was ridiculed online for accidentally revealing his search results that some said implied he was searching for explicit videos involving dolphins, was again met with mockery Saturday. In this case, it was because the lawmaker sent out what many interpreted was a threat to anyone who doesn't support the ex-president.

"I have a long memory," Vance wrote on his social media. "If you’re fighting Trump and his endorsed candidates politically today, don’t ask for my help in a year with your legislation or your pet projects."
Attorney Andrew Lieb said, "That sounds like a sensible way to legislate and get things done without any issues that you need to work out in therapy."
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen also chimed in:
"Does your long memory include this?" and included a screenshot of Vance in 2016 saying he supports Evan McMullin over Trump.
"Trump makes people I care about afraid," Vance wrote at the time. "Immigrants, Muslims, etc. Because of this I find him reprehensible. God wants better for us."
"That's loyalty to a man over the merits of future legislation that could impact the country. Zero concern about America anywhere in there," said conservative activist Peter Henlein.
"Apparently your memory sucks," user Jim James wrote. He included a video of Vance saying Trump doesn't offer "many solutions."
"Remember when you were actively against Trump? I do. What changed?" Florida dad asked Vance.
"You have no power, JD," conservative Heath Mayo wrote Saturday. "No one will ever ask you for anything. Because we all know Trump calls the shots and you just do what he says. If they get Trump, they get you. That’s the choice you made as a man. You chose to make yourself an irrelevant coattail rider. Enjoy the ride."
