Trump’s longtime bodyguard Keith Schiller a new target in Russia investigation

Lawmakers want to question Keith Schiller, longtime bodyguard to President Donald Trump and now a White House aide, as part of their investigation into campaign ties to Russia.

Schiller, the former head of security for Trump Organization and now White House director of Oval Office operations, has been named on the witness list with other associates of the president as part of the House Intelligence Committee investigation, reported ABC News.

The committee's interest in Schiller and other Trump campaign officials signals a new direction in the Russia probe, the network reported.

He joins other members of Trump's inner circle -- Roger Stone Jr., Mike Flynn, Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort -- on the list of campaign associates that lawmakers would like to question as part of their investigation into Russian efforts to interfere with the presidential election.

The former New York City police officer has worked nearly 20 years for Trump and is one of his closest advisers.

Schiller hand-delivered the letter to the FBI from Trump terminating James Comey as director of the law enforcement agency, a decision that special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating as potential obstruction of justice.
