The View’s Abby Huntsman cringes at GOP's Lynne Patton stunt: ‘You don’t have to be black to feel uncomfortable’

"The View" co-host Abby Huntsman cringed when House Republicans brought out a black Trump associate to demonstrate their belief that the president isn't a racist.

Former Trump Organization attorney Michael Cohen told the House Oversight Committee that President Donald Trump was a racist conman, and several Democratic lawmakers called out Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) for bringing former Trump employee Lynne Patton to the hearing as a "prop."

"You don't have to be black to watch what happened yesterday and feel totally uncomfortable with that moment," Huntsman said. "It was not the time or place for that. To your point, it's like, this is my black friend."

Huntsman said Meadows never would have pulled that stunt if he had consulted the black friends he claims to have.

"All you have to do is call your friends beforehand and say, does this sound like a good idea to you?" Huntsman said. "Mark my words, if you do have black friends -- and I do, we have great conversations -- not one would tell you, go have a black person stand behind you."
