The View’s Joy Behar warns Cohen bombshell may set off ‘trapped rat’ Trump: ‘When he’s cornered he gets vicious’

Attorney Michael Cohen is reportedly close to agreeing to cooperate with federal prosecutors -- and "The View" co-host Joy Behar cautioned viewers to hold on to their hats.

A source representing the matter told ABC News that Cohen's lawyers were planning to leave the case, and the report indicated President Donald Trump's longtime attorney was about to flip.

"Cohen said he would jump out of a building or take a bullet for Trump, so I think this is a big switch," said co-host Sara Haines.

Co-host Sunny Hostin, a former federal prosecutor, said the looming threat of a lengthy prison term could be motivating Cohen to turn on his longtime client and business partner.

"I have experienced people flipping in crime families, drug conspiracies, people that you would never think that would flip when they have children at home, when they have a life, and when they are facing significant prison time," Hostin said.

Behar said the development could trigger even more desperate behavior from the president.

"We should watch Trump right now because when he is cornered, he gets vicious," Behar said. "I am concerned about how he is going to respond, like a trapped rat, you know? I'm not calling him a rat, I'm saying it's a trapped animal. He responds like that. It scares me."
