The View’s Meghan McCain scolds liberals for opposing Kavanaugh -- and gets schooled by Joy Behar

"The View" co-hosts Joy Behar and Meghan McCain had a fiery exchange over President Donald Trump's pick to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.

The conservative McCain complained that no pick would have satisfied the left, but Behar said Republicans brought the opposition on themselves.

"There were people with signs that say we hate 'blank,'" McCain said, complaining that protesters didn't even care who Trump picked. "The left does themselves a disservice when they don't even know who it's going to be yet."

Behar blamed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who blocked President Barack Obama's pick to replace the late Antonin Scalia.

"The left is taking a page from Mitch McConnell's book," Behar said.

McCain fired back and blamed Democrats for failing to win the 2016 election.

"The idea that this is, like, a stolen experience, elections have consequences," McCain said. "Yes, Republicans have three branches of power and we're getting two more seats on the court -- that's why voting is important. But the idea that we're living in some totalitarian, fascist country where this was just appointed by a dictator -- that's just a lie."

Behar said Trump was compromised to be allowed to pick a justice who might be deciding a criminal case involving the president.

"Why would a president who is under investigation by the FBI for obstruction of justice and collusion be allowed to pick a Supreme Court justice?" Behar said. "I'll be dead -- there are many people in this room who will still be alive and need abortions and what-have-you and health care."

"How dare he be allowed to do this when he's under investigation?" she added.
