The View's Whoopi Goldberg shuts down Abby Huntsman's attempts to joke about Mueller findings: 'That's not funny'

President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered administration officials to boycott the White House Correspondents' Association dinner Saturday, and "The View" co-host Abby Huntsman flopped trying to suggest how he could gracefully attend.

Huntsman lamented that Trump wasn't self-deprecating enough to attend the dinner, which traditionally features comedians telling jokes at the president's expense.

"I've always loved this dinner -- we've all been," Huntsman said. "It's the one time of year you can be under the same roof with people from the White House and the press corps, when the rest of the year, you know, it's checks and balances -- they're always going at it. It's the one time you can let your hair down, you can have some drinks, you can make fun of each other. Reagan was one of my favorites, who had a great time with the press."

Huntsman then suggested some jokes Trump could make if he would attend the annual event.

"Of all times to not go, here's what I would say, the president has material to use," she said. "The Mueller report just came out. All you have to do is play is 10-minute clip of commentator who came out and said he was a Russian spy, and that he colluded with Russia, and the walk out onstage and say, 'I'm still here.'"

Host Whoopi Goldberg, a veteran standup comic and comedic actress, took a hard pass on that.

"See, that's why that's not going to work," Goldberg said. "That's why that's not going to work, because that's not funny.

Huntsman insisted Trump could make that gag work, but Goldberg said there was no way.

"No," she said. "This man has no sense of humor."
