WATCH: Alec Baldwin channels Trump to apologize for ‘Pocahontas’ slur

While speaking at an Iowa Democratic Party fundraiser Monday night, actor Alec Baldwin, told members they needed to let wounds heal and unify the party.

"I still choke down those words every day — President Trump," Baldwin told a completely sold-out crowd, MSNBC reported.

Baldwin, who plays the president on “Saturday Night Live,” confessed that he would love nothing more to “never ever inhabit the brain of Donald Trump again.” Unfortunately for him, this has become his life.

Baldwin denounced the racist comments from Trump earlier Monday while the Navajo code-talkers visited the White House during Native American Awareness Month.

“And I just want to thank you because you’re very, very special people. You were here long before any of us were here, although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago, they call her Pocahontas. But you know what I like you," Trump told them men, standing in front of a painting of Andrew Jackson, who signed the Indian Removal Act. It was a reference to Elizabeth Warren, who Trump holds a bizarre obsession with.

"I'm sorry if I offended anyone," Baldwin said in his Trump impersonation. "Especially Pocahontas, who's of course a smoking-hot cartoon character."

But the main focus of Baldwin's speech was healing wounds between Hillary Clinton supporters and voters for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

"I only have myself to blame. We didn't work hard enough," Baldwin confessed. "I make a promise to you: I am ready to fight to help the Democrats win."

The fall fundraiser for the party has been a key event to launch presidential campaigns. Both Sens. Barack Obama and Jon Kerry attended the event prior to the Iowa Caucus in 2008 and 2004.

MSNBC described Baldwin as almost presidential himself, discussing health care, job creation and foreign policy.

"A future Democratic president may be in this room tonight," he said.
