Watch April Ryan take on Sarah Sanders for non-answers on Roger Stone

Veteran White House correspondent April Ryan on Monday recounted her time before White House press secretary Sarah Sanders during the press briefing earlier in the day — and pointed out the question the spokeswoman refused to answer.

CNN host Erin Burnett pointed out that Sanders "simply would not answer" questions about newly-indicted Trump confidante Roger Stone.

Ryan said that she asked Sarah Sanders specifically if Trump was in contact with mutual friends of his and Stones' — and that the press secretary responded by saying "'I'm not sure of that.'"

"Are these people taking information, these mutual friends taking information from Roger Stone or Michael Cohen or Paul Manafort back to the president?" the correspondent added. "And she said, 'I'm not aware of that.'"

Ryan went on to detail a gathering Stone had hours before he was raided by the FBI last week and the questions surrounding it.

"[Stone] had several influencers from Trump's circle of friends at his home for a gathering," the reporter said. "And some who were there were wondering if the FBI actually was there, watching as they were there for this gathering."

That news, Ryan said, led her to the question about Stone and Trump's mutual friends.

"[Sanders] just said, 'I don't know, I have not heard anything about that,'" Ryan recounted. "She doesn't believe that's happening."
