Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin's new wife, actress Louise Linton, posted a photo Monday evening while exiting an American government plane on Instagram. It took almost no time for users to notice the post contained tags for designers like Hermès, Valentino and Tom Ford.
Naturally, many took to the comments of the post to voice their frustration with the Scottish actress and her apparent obsession with status, only to get some interesting replies back from Linton herself.
"Please don't tag your Hermes scarf," one user wrote. "It's distasteful."
"Did you think this was a personal trip?! Adorable!" Linton wrote in her response. "Do you think the US govt paid for our honeymoon or personal travel?! Lololol. Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? Either as an individual earner in taxes OR in self sacrifice to your country I'm pretty sure we paid more taxes toward our day "trip" than you did."
"Thanks for the passive aggressive nasty comment," Linton ironically continued. "Your kids look very cute. Your life looks cute. I know you're mad but deep down you're really nice and so am I."
Twitter immediately jumped into action about the post, which has since been deleted from her Instagram.
"Now I'm curious to know what she's 'sacrificing' every year," NUMB3RS co-creator Nicolas Falacci tweeted.
On Monday, Linton was also in the news for allegedly fabricating parts of her 'white savior' novel about Zambia.
