West Virginia man accused of making more than 400 hoax bomb threats since May

A West Virginia man was arrested after allegedly making more than 400 bomb threats in less than two months.

Police said Cody Startt, of Matoaka, called in hundreds of hoax bomb threats since May 21, including more than 100 last weekend alone, reported WSOC-TV.

He's accused of making 75 others two weeks ago to local businesses, including a Walmart that was evacuated in Newton.

Morganton police investigated similar threats at motels, fast food restaurants and convenience stores.

This isn't even the first time the 27-year-old Startt has been accused of making bomb threats.

He was charged on felony probation violations for prior convictions for calling in threats.

Startt will face additional charges in connection with the latest round of bomb threats throughout Catawba, Burke and Caldwell counties.

The FBI, U.S. Marshals and NCSBI are assisting local law enforcement in the investigation.
