White ‘terrorist’ threatens to kill everyone in Waffle House with guns and bombs — and lives

A man claiming to have explosives threatened an Alabama waffle restaurant on Tuesday morning and was later arrested, AL.com reports.

Mark Fredrick Newton, 62, was arrested and charged with a felony count of making a terrorist threat. Newton, who told police he is homeless, is being held on a $15,000 bond. He allegedly walked into a Waffle House restaurant and said he was armed and had explosives.

Newton told restaurant employees he had a handgun and threatened to use it. He also said he was a terrorist and had a carload of explosives outside.

But he left without incident, and police found him later, with no firearms or explosives in his possession.

Newton was free on bond related to a March charge of possessing a controlled substance, AL.com reports. He's due in court on May 4.
