California school under fire for history quiz letting kids name 'all of Florida' as 'a group of complete idiots'

On Monday, WGNO reported that a Sacramento-area school district is under fire for a strange multiple-choice question on a history quiz asking students to identify "a group of complete idiots."

"Whitney High School, located in the Sacramento suburb of Rocklin, released a statement Saturday saying it would investigate the quiz," reported Connor Malone and Gurajpal Sangha. "The question supposedly asked respondents to identify 'a group of complete idiots.' The options shown were the 'KKK,' 'all of Florida,' 'FOX news,' and 'Texans.'"

"We all have different beliefs," said Jessa Krissovich, who shared a screenshot of the quiz question on social media. "This is the United States and we all come from different backgrounds and everybody should be OK with who they are."

The school has said that the incident is under investigation.

This comes amid elevated tensions around school politics all around the country, which played a key role in the high-profile gubernatorial election in Virginia last week that saw Republicans winning control for the first time in over a decade. Elsewhere, school board meetings have erupted in fury from right-wing demonstrators over anti-racist curricula and COVID-19 safety measures, with one group of anti-mask activists in Huntington Beach, California calling students wearing masks "Communists."
