Call it a case of the MAGA zoomies — they’re really upset over what appears to be nothing.
There were hisses and growls on Instagram this week when First Lady Jill Biden posted video of a White House tour with the pets website the Dodo, a tour that was led by Willow the White House cat.
“She’s very affectionate,” Dr. Biden tells the camera. “Willow, you have snow on your fur!”
The right-wing internet was, of course, outraged.
“Silence is complicity,” warned ___kim_k____. “How dare they think they can distract us with their cat?”
“The Biden in [sic] their followers are morally and ethically corrupt,” replied Bartholomewcindy@gmail.com1.
“The cat was probably sacrificed for some demonic ritual,” Jay.rutland.77 posited.
The cat in question can be seen accepting pets, enjoying what appears to be a catnip pickle, rolling on the floor of the White House and stretching.
Followers of the Dodo were not impressed.

“Dear @thedodo .. I have been a fan for maybe a year or two,” wrote Haidi_mahmoud39. “Showing the white house as animal-friendly is totally inaccurate.”
“They'll euthanize the cat when it scratches someone,” Patsygram said. “Poor abused cat.”
The conversation descended into a political debate that had nothing to do with Willow and what appears to be her very fluffy belly.
“Grow a brain and think for yourself instead of being in mango Mussolini’s cult,” Jenirunsdisney told one of the video’s critics. “Can’t wait to see you cry in November. Or sooner when your orange overlord is in prison.”
“Biden will be in jail or dead and a Republican will take over again… either Trump or Ramaswamy,” retorted sharonxxrose. “No more corrupt Biden’s trying to throw their opponents in jail. Get your safe space ready.”
Pleas for politically-minded followers to retract their social media claws were largely ignored, much like an expensive new cat toy when there is a cardboard box on the floor.
“It’s literally Christmas and it’s a simple cat post,” said For.the.peep. “Take a break from social media.”
“Can’t people just enjoy the cat?!” asked _jesslev1981_.
Kro5tanussey wrote, “Me thinking this was a cute video and the comments would be civil.”
Replied mlouprice. “Hope springs eternal I guess.”
