On Wednesday, The Daily Beast reported that a former state Supreme Court justice tapped by Wisconsin Republicans to investigate the state's election results has admitted he's clueless about the election process.
"Most people, myself included, do not have a comprehensive understanding or even any understanding of how elections work,' Michael Gableman, the judge tapped by the GOP to lead the "audit," told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Despite this, writes the Journal Sentinel, Gableman was given a $676,000 budget by Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to conduct his probe.
Gableman tells the paper that his report will focus on how the Wisconsin 2020 election should have happened.
"Section one: What should have occurred during the election? How do these things work? Most people don't know about that," he said. "Election laws are unlike, say, laws about don't kill me — they're not intuitive.
According to the report, Gableman has also been seen in the company of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a noted Trump ally and election conspiracy theorist currently being sued by Dominion Voting Systems for claiming they fraudulently switched votes from Trump to Biden.
This comes just as Arizona Republicans wrapped up a controversial audit of Maricopa County, where an out-of-state security firm probed a number of conspiracy theories, including hunting for bamboo fibers in ballots to prove that they were Asian forgeries.
