Trump family members are furious their 'inheritance is on the line' in fraud trial

During an appearance on MSNBC on Saturday morning a journalist who was part of a team that won the Pulitzer Prize for their investigation of Donald Trump's finances said there is real concern within the family that there will be nothing left if they lose badly in Judge Arthur Engoron's courtroom.

Speaking with host Ali Velshi, New York Times investigative reporter Susanne Craig said things are getting "real "for the Trumps as things go from bad to worse for the future of the Trump Organization in the $250 million financial fraud trial that could lead to the dismantling of the company and its assets being sold off one by one.

"There is already a receiver over his [Donald Trump] company," Craig told the MSNBC host. "The day that you and I were on air, he was found liable to fraud, and the judge immediately said, get the fraudsters out of the driving seat, they are no longer going to be running this company, I'm putting a receiver in charge."

'Stupid' Eric Trump buried by Michael Cohen for walking into obvious trap at fraud trial

Exclaiming, "How stupid do they have to be?' former Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen ripped into Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. for their testimony in the $250 million financial fraud trial being held in Manhattan, claiming Donald Trump's sons did more damage than help to the family's future.

Appearing on MSNBC with host Ali Velshi, the former Trump fixer who also testified in the same trial against the Trump Organization, singled out one exchange between Eric Trump and a prosecutor that was an obvious trap — and the former president's son blithely walked right into it.

Focusing on Eric Trump's repeated insistence he paid little to no attention to financial statements prepared by the Trump Organization where he is a senior executive, prosecutor Andrew Amer then produced internal emails that showed he was kept in the loop with fellow executives.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

That moment, Cohen claimed, was a major turning point in the trial as Judge Arthur Engoron ponders Eric Trump's credibility before making a determination on the financial penalty that could bring the company down and send it into receivership.

"You know, Don Junior and Eric lied under oath," Cohen told the MSNBC host. "In fact, all they are doing is emulating their father who was put on the stand by Judge Engoron in regard to statements that he made outside the courtroom about the judge's law clerk, claiming it was me."

"I mean, the guy lies the way that you breathe, and the kids are doing the same thing — how stupid do they have to be?" he exclaimed. "It is sad to stay, how stupid do you have to be when you are Eric Trump, for example, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, and you claim all you really do is, you know, you pour concrete?"

"Let me be very clear: Eric has never poured concrete in this life. He wouldn't know how to pour quicksand by adding water to it," he continued. "And Don Jr. claims that he was just a broker. They were not just brokers, Eric did not pour concrete. They were in charge of running the company while their father was president, under the control of Allen Weisselberg, who is the trustee plain and simple."

"And the emails! Did they not think that the government had the emails? Did they not think they were going to show it to them? They think this is some sort of a joke?" he added.

Languishing Trump hotels and golf resorts offer discounts amid struggle to book customers

Once regarded as a prestigious luxury brand, former President Donald Trump's namesake hotels and golf courses now appear to be floundering since his departure from the White House and criminal indictments.

Newsweek reported on Friday that bookings are available through 2025 at Trump's branded hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada; New York, New York; Chicago, Illinois and Waikiki, Hawaii. The publication is also reporting that Trump's golf resort in Doral, Florida — where the former president once suggested hosting the G7 summit of world leaders in 2019 — is now offering discounts on tee times of up to $45. Revenue at the Doral resort is down from $75 million in 2017, when Trump assumed the oath of office, to less than $45 million in 2020.

Trump's lawyers used unverified right-wing news report to go after law clerk: legal expert

During the civil fraud trial in New York, former President Donald Trump and his attorneys have repeatedly attacked the law clerk assisting Judge Arthur Engoron, to the point where it actually got the former president fined for violating the gag order in the trial.
