'He's a hack': Fox's Bret Baier pummeled by former colleagues after Harris interview

Add some former Fox News colleagues of embattled host Bret Baier to the list of people who weren't impressed by how he conducted himself during his interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

With various political observers calling his hectoring of Donald Trump's presidential opponent "embarrassing," "insufferable" and "obnoxious," media analyst Justin Baragona reported that two former Fox News producers joined the pile-on.

He wrote, "A former Fox producer just sent me this reaction: 'Baier showed, again, he's not a 'straight news" anchor. He's a hack who's no different than Hannity or Watters. He bowed to the pressure from his MAGA fans because he doesn't care as long as they don't change the channel.'"

Moments later he added, "Another ex-Fox News producer also texted me that it's 'so interesting to see Bret Baier for who he really is now that I'm on the outside looking in, adding that Baier is 'just so completely in the tank it's hard to believe anyone sees him as a real journalist.'"

Former Univision president bashes network for hosting Trump 'propaganda' town hall

The former president of Univions and Telemundo took his former network to task on Thursday morning for taking part in a town hall with Donald Trump where the former president was allowed to glibly brush away Latino voters' concerns with little push back.

Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" with co-host Mika Brzezinski, Joaquin Blaya compared the Trump town hall to what one might see on Fox News and labeled it as nothing more than an "infomericial" where the audience was brought in as "props."

Getting right into it, he complained, "He [Trump] went onto recite his concert of lies without any journalism integrity on the part of the network, without any fact-checking."

"So he spoke uninterrupted saying many of the things we have seen him say for the last few months, but some of the things he has been saying in the last few months which are very relevant to Hispanics, were not brought up," he added. "For example, that we are poisoning the blood of this country. That we includes me and my family."

He accused, "He is working on the largest deportation project in American history where he is planning to raid and put in camps millions of people. Obviously he went on talking about the Haitians in Springfield, legal citizens of this country which were invited by that city to help provide services and jobs. It goes on and on."

"I think you have covered this subject at length this morning," he added. "The question here is Univision did not distinguish themselves as being a true news organization. And served as a platform for close to an hour of his continuing recital of lies."

He then singled out the town hall moderator, telling the MSNBC host, "I cannot respond for the network, but the person that was conducting the –– let's call it the town hall –– was the same person that did what I call a propaganda project. The main anchor of the Univision network is Jorge Ramos, one of the most respected journalists in America. You would have thought that Jorge would have to be the person doing the interview and the town hall. Yet they, again, decided to put on someone that they brought from Mexico, and the results are what you saw last night where they allow Trump to go freely reciting his traditional list of lies."

'That was the mask coming down': Kamala Harris said to have exposed Fox News in real-time

According to MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski, Vice President Kamala Harris did serious damage to the already shaky reputation of Fox News when she busted Fox personality Bret Baier for running a deceptive clip of Donald Trump.

In a highly scrutinized segment, Trump's "enemy within" attack on his critics came up, and the Fox interviewer shared a clip of the former president blowing it off and turning himself into a victim of persecution that led Harris to rebuke him with "That's not what you just showed."

She then added, "Here’s the bottom line, he has repeated it many times, and you and I both know that. And you and I both know that he has talked about turning the American military against the American people. He has talked about going after people who are engaged in peaceful protest.”

Donald Trump jumped on Truth Social late Wednesday night to weigh in on Vice President Kamala Harris' Fox News interview with host Bret Baier.

Following the interview that drew the ire of many viewers because Baier continued to talk over his guest and refused to let her finish her answers, the former president accused his presidential opponent of suffering from "Trump derangement syndrome."

On Truth Social he said in response, "Great job by Bret Baier in his Interview with Lyin’ Kamala Harris. She has a massive and irredeemable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME - So bad, in fact, that she is barely able to talk about any subject other than the man who had the best economy ever, the strongest border in history, and who just got the UNANIMOUS ENDORSEMENT OF THE U.S. Border Patrol, ME!"

He then added, "Their Endorsement was a TREMENDOUS HONOR!!! They said that Comrade Kamala did a terrible job, the absolute worst in memory, and can’t be allowed to do it again."

"She is also the WORST Vice President in history, but hopefully will soon be GONE. For the good of our Nation, her inferior Cognitive ability must be tested at once!" he concluded.

Fox host scrambles to calm conspiracy-minded viewers sneering at Harris interview

In the days leading up to his sit-down interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to be broadcast on Wednesday, Fox New host Bret Baier is working overtime on social media asking hard core conservatives to calm down and watch the final result.

According to CNN media analyst Brian Stelter, Biaer has been actively replying to naysayers and conspiracy-minded Donald Trump supporters who fear he'll handle Harris with kid gloves.

In a thread on X, Stelter wrote the embattled Baier is "keenly aware" of dissatisfaction by MAGA supporters over giving the Democratic nominee for president a platform to spread her message.

"As soon as Baier announced his Harris sit-down, uber-skeptical commenters on this site replied with doubts and conspiracy theories. 'This interview will be as watered down as they come.' 'No doubt she already has the list of Q's.' 'I don't trust Fox and I trust Baier even less,'" the CNN analyst wrote.

Pointing to new Gallup polling that shows Fox is no longer the favored conservative network among Trump devotees, Stelter explained, Baier, "has been replying to skeptics on X, and addressing the matter on his nightly show, promising that his interview with Harris will be 'unedited' – in contrast to some of the VP's other interviews – and 'uninterrupted.'" And then adding, "The anchorman has also been responding to X users to tell them that Harris doesn't have access to his questions in advance, and 'there were no preconditions to get the interview.'"

According to Stelter, "Baier is bending over backwards to explain the basics of TV news to an audience that automatically assumes the worst. It's a sad sign of our distrusting times."
