'Hostage video': Charlie Kirk says Jenna Ellis' teary plea written by 'serpent maggots'
Right-wing activist Charlie Kirk downplayed a guilty plea entered by attorney Jenna Ellis in a Georgia conspiracy case she is facing along with Donald Trump and other co-defendants.
With a tearful apology in Fulton County court on Tuesday, Ellis admitted to aiding and abetting false statements made in an attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
Ellis was the third defendant to plead guilty and agree to work with the prosecution in the past week.

On his Tuesday podcast, Kirk said he had spoken to Ellis and encouraged her to return the money she had raised from donations to mount a legal defense.
"It is very easy to armchair quarterback somebody who's facing 20 years in prison — people say she's a traitor," Kirk told his audience before playing a clip of Ellis weeping in court.
"I'm not asking you to feel sorry for Jenna Ellis, but this is cruel, this is unusual, and this is intentional. This is getting the defendant to love Big Brother," he added. "I'm not thrilled that Jenna Ellis took a plea deal, but that was a hostage video, and that's a really important way to view it."
Kirk suggested Ellis was not sincere in her apology to the court.
"She was being held hostage by this entire machinery," he argued. "You could watch that video of Jenna Ellis breaking down reading what is obviously prepared remarks by these vile serpent maggots and act as if this is a wonderful thing."
"I mean, she's crying reading this thing," he added. "Does she believe it? I don't know. It's under duress. You want to talk about under duress? That's under duress."
