'Contradiction': Fox Biz host rips Trump blaming crash on Biden policies 'still in place'
Fox Business host Stuart Varney called out President Donald Trump after he blamed Wednesday's deadly plane crash on Biden-era policies that were "still in place."
After Trump held a press conference on the mid-air collision between a U.S. Army helicopter and a passenger airplane in Washington, D.C., Varney reacted by calling the president's address "sensational."
"The President came out and immediately blamed diversity," the Fox Business host noted. "He blamed DEI and the diversity policies of the Aviation Administration for the, he put blame here."
"He went out of his way to call Pete Buttigieg, the former Transportation Secretary, a disaster," he continued.
Varney noted that Trump had not rescinded the policies despite claiming they caused the crash.
"OK, the president was asked specifically, should Americans now feel safe to fly?" he pointed out. "And he specifically said yes, even though he had criticized the institution, the Federal Aviation Administration, for its diversity policies. Those policies are still in place. That personnel is still in place, carrying through into the future."
"And yet the president says it's OK. It's OK. We are safe. Do you see a contradiction in that?" Varney asked former Department of Homeland Security adviser Michael Balboni.
Unfortunately, the expert's audio feed was interrupted.
"So I'm sorry, folks, we have to interrupt, because we've got a problem with the audio here," Varney said. "And this is a very important subject. We have just seen again, I'm going to say the word. It is a sensational press conference delivered by the president of the United States."

"And to me, he appeared to be pointing the finger of blame at diversity and air traffic control and the policies of diversity which have created the air traffic control system and personnel that we have now," he added. "He seemed to be pointing the finger of blame. That's my takeaway from it."
