Failed Arizona candidate Kari Lake said she would promote President-elect Donald Trump's next administration as a "golden era" after he picked her as the next director of Voice of America, an international news broadcaster funded by the U.S. government.

"Can you imagine if what's about to happen, the incredible resurgence in this new golden era is covered in the same way with the fake news that we're seeing on a national scale over on Voice of America?" Lake told right-wing host Steve Bannon on Thursday. "What a shame that would be. And we're going to make sure that doesn't happen."
