Trump is set to burn — and Mike Johnson's appalling betrayal can't save him
Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), aka Speaker Jesus Freak, just sent the entire House home for an extended recess that will last until after the November midterms — because he’s a traitor to the United States of America.
Johnson’s reasoning for this treasoning? It seems clear that it's to delay votes because Trump ordered him to.
The first vote is about AI, which is set to kill off any remaining Americans who managed to survive famine, food contamination, and airborne viruses, among the many other attempts by the Trump regime to thin the national herd down to an army of obedient white drones and birthing vessels.
Trump clearly loves AI, which is essentially all he posts on his social media these days and nights. He definitely doesn’t care about the environmental damage done by data centers, which is why he and Natalie took to Truth Social on Monday to post a bunch of “Truths” about AI, calling any concerns about it destroying humanity a “hoax” and a “scam.”
He compared the bipartisan backlash to data centers to what he dubbed the “Global Warming Scam,” claiming that the only safeguard AI needs is “a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT.”
Why are we living in the Dumbest Timeline Ever? I want a president who speaks like an adult and a Cabinet of fellow adults, supported by a Congress of adults.
Instead, we get Trumpspeak from the Trumpspeaker of the House.
“We cannot have a moratorium on the development of AI,” Johnson told reporters on Tuesday. “Because then we will lose our edge to China, and that has serious national security implications for every American family.”
But more important than AI, Johnson wants to avoid that pesky pending vote to oust pathetic Penta-goner and fellow Fake Christian “Punch-Drunk” Pete Hegseth after articles of impeachment were filed by outgoing Republican Rep. Thomas “IDGAF” Massie. He’s been scorching the earth of the House floor by revealing the names of Epstein’s cohorts in the Epstein Files, so why not throw in an impeachment on his way out the House door?
Massie won’t see the seeds of his labor bear fruit, but there’s always the next Congress, which is on track to flip back to a Democratic majority now that we can all vote by mail thanks to SCOTUS surprisingly siding with the American people for a change.
MAGA MiKKKe Johnson also lied to the press when he explained the historically early recess. On Wednesday, Johnson told reporters that he was “modifying” the schedule because “the House has done its work." Which it absolutely has not. In another lie, he said he wanted members to return to their districts to “spend time with constituents ahead of the election.”
Republicans don’t hold Town Halls anymore because they’re afraid of their constituents yelling at them. They all saw what happened to Roger Marshall at his debate, and they definitely don’t want any of this smoke when they go home, hopefully for good.
We’ve seen Johnson capitulate to Trump over and over, stooping as low as to claim Trump was a “secret FBI operative” working undercover with the government to expose Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. Weird how he managed to get away with such an egregious lie to the American people, especially since he’s such a devout Christian. Or, as I like to say, a giant Trumpocrite. Same diff.
That’s the day he should’ve been forced to resign.
The loving and Christlike Speaker Mike Johnson has been a successful fundraiser despite being an utter legislative failure. Aside from showing up for a Washington State senator, Johnson campaigned for Trumpy Texan Brandon Herrera, whose words about children are truly unspeakable.
The devout father who shares an “accountability app” with his son to make sure neither of them is tempted by all the free pics of unclothed womenfolk on the internet, also showed up at a brewpub in Vancouver, WA, last month, even though he’s spoken out about the evils of the al-kee-hols.
Hypocrisy is the default setting of the GOP. For the last decade, they’ve pushed an agenda of Russian propaganda that their pre-Trump selves wouldn’t have tolerated. We’ve witnessed them bend their knees to Daddy Vladdy, with repeated visits to Moscow from various Trump Cabinet members and Republican members of Congress.
You really have to wonder what Putin has on them that’s led them to also willfully participate in covering up whatever’s (allegedly) in the unredacted Epstein Files about Trump.
I still maintain that there’s nothing lower than committing treason — except committing treason while also covering up the (allegedly) unspeakable sex crimes against children to protect their (alleged) abusers.
By sending everyone home until after the midterms, Mike Johnson is signaling that he thinks Republicans will lose their razor-thin majority. He already has the worst record of any GOP speaker, so I guess leaving on the lowest note possible is fine with him.
According to the Government Affairs Institute, House Republicans under Mike Johnson set the record for the “number of failed special rules (votes speakers use to bring bills to the floor), set the modern record for successful discharge petitions to bring bills to the floor over Johnson’s objections, and forced him to pull legislation from the floor after it became clear he lacked the votes.”
Johnson’s weak track record makes Kevin McCarthy look like Tip O’Neill, and his legacy is that of full loyalty to Trump, not America. And we’re still left wondering where the accountability is.
Trying to make any sense of any of this is maddening. Watching it all play out right in front of us without any consequences for the Republicans is infuriating. We can’t just let them off the hook. Flipping Congress back to a Democratic majority is our best hope for any real justice. And once we’re there, Democrats need to listen to what WE want, which is real accountability for the Republicans who chose loyalty to Trump over America.
