Donald Trump on Friday went all in on culture wars in a fiery speech he delivered to a right-wing “parental rights” group.

The former president claimed that Democrats “hate God” at the Moms for Liberty “Joyful Warrior” event in Philadelphia on Friday.

He called out the support for Democrats among Catholics in particular, but qualified his rhetoric by claiming without evidence that the animosity Democrats have toward people of faith has grown more than he expected.

“You’re Catholic and you go vote for the Democrats. It's crazy. They got almost 50 percent of the (Catholic) vote last time, and I say why would they do it, but in all fairness, they've never been brazen, like they are right now,” Trump said.

“Nobody had any idea. They hate religion. They hate God. They hate God…what they've done to religion is so horrible, horrible.”

Others who were scheduled to speak at the event included presidential candidates Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

Florida’s First Lady, Casey DeSantis, was also scheduled to speak at the event.

The Moms for Liberty that started out as a grassroots of parents opposing COVID restrictions to a national organazation and has since risen to a powerful far-right political group.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has described Moms for Liberty as an extremist group.

“Moms for Liberty is a far-right organization that engages in anti-student inclusion activities and self-identifies as part of the modern parental rights movement. The group grew out of opposition to public health regulations for COVID-19, opposes LGBTQ+ and racially inclusive school curriculum, and has advocated books bans,” according to the SPLC’s website.
