The surprising religious communities where Kamala Harris is getting support

When Joe Biden and Donald Trump faced off in 2020, only about 200 or 300 voters regularly joined calls hosted by the Latter-day Saints for Biden group.

Now, the Mormon community is showing up even stronger for Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. About 1,600 people attended the August 2024 call for Latter-day Saints for Harris-Walz, according to Rob Taber, the group’s national director.

'Bloodbath': Inside the MAGA playbook for mayhem after Election Day

When polling places close across the United States tonight, in the event that Donald Trump appears to be losing, it’s not hard to predict what he and his allies will do to overturn the result between now and Jan. 20.

The early outlines of the MAGA strategy for overturning a potential loss look remarkably similar to what unfolded after the Nov. 3, 2020 election.

'Lies and misinformation': WA GOP accuses Dems of supporting child chemical castration

A Spanish-language text message sent by the Washington State Republican Party accusing Democratic candidates of supporting "chemical castration of children at school" sparked outrage from the state's Legislative Latino Caucus and candidates named in the message.

The text sent Friday targeted three Democratic candidates running for seats in the Washington state legislature, which Maria Beltran, Democratic candidate to represent Washington State Senate District 14, estimated was sent to thousands of senior voters.

FBI uncovers deceptive AI deepfakes in 2024 election's final hours

WASHINGTON — The competing claims flying across our screens have heated up in recent weeks, but we ain’t seen nothing yet.

Election experts and tech firms are bracing for a flood of artificial intelligence-fueled deepfakes, coupled with a torrent of more traditional mis- and disinformation efforts, in these final hours of the 2024 election.

'Grossly incompetent': Some Dems freaking out over Harris' Pennsylvania operation

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. — Some Pennsylvania Democrats are freaking out over what they say is a lackluster field operation across the state by Vice President Kamala Harris, which one characterizes as “grossly incompetent” ahead of Election Day.

“Compared to past presidential campaigns, the Harris PA campaign has been dysfunctional and, frankly, incompetent. They’re grossly incompetent,” a senior Pennsylvania Democrat, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly, told Raw Story this week. “Really simple stuff that they've just dropped the ball on — a ton of stuff. And so everyone — literally every Pennsylvania Democrat I know — is complaining about the incompetence of the people running the Harrisburg, PA operation.”

Mike Johnson’s running for his life – and possibly Trump’s – this election

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The foliage is spectacular, but there’s little respite in upstate New York for people trying to escape this year’s elections. Yard signs are everywhere, and if you flip on a TV or YouTube, chances are you’ll hear ominous music before an ad accuses one member of Congress or another of being either a “sellout” or “so extreme, it’s dangerous.”

“I'm here today to cut through the BS that you see on television,” first-term Rep. Marc Molinaro (R-NY) told local upstate New York business owners recently.

Allies urge battleground GOP-controlled legislatures to guarantee a Trump win

Far-right allies of former President Donald Trump are calling on the state legislature in North Carolina and other closely contested presidential battleground states where Republicans hold control to short-circuit the popular vote and directly award the state’s 16 electoral votes to Trump.

Ivan Raiklin, a retired Army lieutenant colonel known for pushing a similar plan four years ago to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence to throw the 2020 election, made the pitch during an appearance at the final stop of the ReAwaken America Tour, a roadshow that mixes evangelical Christianity, conspiracy theories and slavish devotion to Trump, on Oct. 18.

'He’s mentally ill:' NY laughs ahead of Trump's Madison Square Garden rally

KINGSTON, NY — Former President Donald Trump’s upcoming Madison Square Garden rally is a joke, if a “depressing” one, to many New York business owners.

Tuesday, as the sun was still rising on a brisk, windless fall morning at the Wiltwyck Golf Club, down-ballot congressional candidates made their clunky pitches to local business owners, who sometimes found themselves more fixated on the buffet of eggs, bacon and quasi-fresh fruit laid out for them than on the politicians at the lectern.

An indicted lawyer at the RNC’s election integrity unit is still spreading election lies

Christina Bobb, a top lawyer for the Republican National Committee’s election integrity unit, has maintained a low profile since she was indicted in Arizona in April for her role in the effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

But comments during a podcast interview last month suggest she’s still closely involved in the flurry of lawsuits filed by the GOP and its massive 18-state volunteer poll observer program.

'I'm advocating Christian nationalism': Josh Hawley's ties to Project 2025 exposed

Two staffers for Republican Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) are credited as contributors to the controversial conservative “presidential transition” plan, Project 2025, according to a Raw Story review of the 922-page document.

John Ehrett, chief counsel for Hawley since April 2023, according to LinkedIn and Congressional research website LegiStorm, is cited as a contributor to the plan from conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, that calls for curtailing abortion access, increasing deportations, eliminating government agencies like the Department of Education and banning transgender athletes from sports as part of a plan for a conservative presidency.
