CNN's Sellers throws Trump's insurrection in Scott Jennings face after Biden rant

During the panel segment of CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, contributor Bakari Sellers shot down conservative Scott Jennings after the he went on an extended diatribe calling President Joe Biden a "disgrace."

As part of a discussion on Biden's last days in office, Jennings launched into an attack on the president, telling host Dana Bash and the other panelists, "I think he's going to leave office in disgrace. The Hunter Biden pardon was disgraceful."

"He's going to be remembered largely for inflation and for the disastrous Afghanistan pullout," he continued. "And I think as we continue to –– we're just getting the first draft of this now –– but as we continue to learn about the massive cover-up that went on, not about his health, but about his mental acuity to cover that up, the efforts that were undertaken by the White House staff, by his family, not in the last couple of months, but for all four years, I think it's going to be a really ugly chapter."

"It's a diminished presidency because of it, and I think we still don't know the full extent of what they did to try to hide what they've been doing over in the West Wing," he added.

Sellers quickly lectured Jennings, "So I think leaving in disgrace is when you have an insurrection at the Capitol –– like that's leaving in disgrace."

"Being impeached twice is leaving in disgrace, so that's that's a difference," he calmly explained to the stone-faced conservative.

Ex-House lawmaker stuns MSNBC hosts with surprise candidate to replace Mike Johnson

During an appearance on MSNBC's "The Weekend," former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) was asked if there is a viable replacement for House speaker since it appears current Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) may be in trouble with some of his colleagues.

With at least four GOP House members sitting on the fence or outright saying they will not support Johnson in the closely divided legislative chamber, combined with Donald Trump keeping quiet, Walsh stunned the panel by suggesting retired former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for the job since there is no rule against a non-member holding the position.

After Walsh proposed McCarthy, "The Weekend" co-host Michael Steele burst out laughing.

"The best thing Johnson has going for him is the calendar," Walsh continued. "Trump wants to do a bunch of cruel aggressive stuff in January, a speaker's mess messes that up, but Kevin McCarthy. I could see Donald Trump getting behind Kevin McCarthy, what a wonderful turn that would be. I'm just saying."

'How many votes were there to oust Kevin McCarthy?" panelist April Ryan asked. "Do we want to go through that again?"

"Do we want to go through any of this again?" co-host Alicia Menendez interjected as Steele continued to laugh.

'Who the hell is this man?' MSNBC's Michael Steele goes off on Trump advisor

During a discussion about how Elon Musk has gone to war with Donald Trump's base over foreign workers, MSNBC host Michael Steele finally had enough and ripped into the tech billionaire who seems to be calling the shots for the president-elect.

As part of his battle to make his point that the U.S. needs more H-1B foreign workers because American workers don't measure up, Musk got into a X spat with a commenter and told them "f--k you in the face" –– which in turn set "The Weekend" co-host off.

"You've got Vivek [Ramaswamy] and Elon sitting here talking about how lazy white men are, just to break this down because that is what they said, that is why everybody got upset," he began.

"Elon may want to go to war on an issue like this but he's going to war against a base that does not want Vivek Ramaswamy here, even though he's a citizen," he laughed.

"Elon Musk is not hiring Donald Trump's base to come work at SpaceX. Can we be clear about that? He's not hiring that base to come work at Google or whatever company he buys next," he continued. "This is the way it is, or am I missing something because that is what I'm reading in that long screed, as my friend Symone [Sanders Townsend] called it yesterday, was laid out by Vivek very clearly stating , and now emphasized by Elon himself, talking about take a big step back and F yourself in the face?"

"Who the hell is this man?" he exclaimed.

"Except an immigrant," he added. "I mean, I don't get it."
