'Bring it on, Donald Trump': Democratic lawmaker issues new challenge to president-elect

During an appearance on MSNBC on Thursday morning, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) seemed unbothered by threats from Donald Trump to have his Department of Justice come after him because he took part in making the case for the president-elect's first impeachment.

With Trump forcefully telling NBC's Kristen Welker last Sunday that he feels he was wronged by Democrats while he was out of office, citing California Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff, MSNBC host Jonathan Lemire pointed out that Goldman would also be a likely target if Trump gets his way.

"So, congressman, quick follow-up," Lemire prompted his guest. "You speak of political enemies of Donald Trump. You served as lead counsel in the first impeachment trial of Trump when he was in office the last time. Would you be considered a political enemy? Are you fearful that you could be targeted or prosecuted?"

'On day one': A list of the things Donald Trump says he'll do his first day in office

As with 2016, President-elect Donald Trump has made sweeping promises of what he intends to accomplish on his first day in office.

It took about a week for Trump to pen an executive order to ban people from coming into the U.S. from predominantly Muslim countries. The courts immediately stopped it, and after months of litigation, it had to be rewritten to include at least one non-Muslim country.

‘Marxist’ agenda: Hegseth says gay troops ‘erode standards’ in ‘social engineering’ push

Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump’s controversial pick to oversee the Department of Defense and its 3.4 million military and civilian personnel, has a long history of anti-LGBTQ statements. According to multiple reports, Hegseth has opposed gay service members, labeling them a threat to military standards and a part of a “Marxist” agenda promoting “social engineering.”

“At least when it was an ‘Army of One,’ they were, you know, tough looking, go get ‘em army – but you’re right, that was the subtle shifting toward an individual ad campaign,” Hegseth told far-right podcaster Ben Shapiro, CNN reports. “Now you just have the absurdity of ‘I have two mommies and I’m so proud to show them that I can wear the uniform too.’ So they, it’s just like everything else the Marxists and the leftists have done. At first it was camouflaged nicely and now they’re just, they’re just open about it.”

"Can you imagine if what's about to happen, the incredible resurgence in this new golden era is covered in the same way with the fake news that we're seeing on a national scale over on Voice of America?" Lake told right-wing host Steve Bannon on Thursday. "What a shame that would be. And we're going to make sure that doesn't happen."

'Alright, I don't care': MSNBC host cuts off Boebert discussion about new investigation

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough expressed no interest in comments made by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) on Thursday morning during a segment about Donald Trump using the Department of Justice to pursue his political foes.

First taking a shot at House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) for saying in an interview with the Bulwark, "With politicians, if you’ve used a congressional committee and you’ve lied and tried to set people up and falsely imprisoned people, then you should be held accountable," co-host Mika Brezinski began to report that Rep. Lauren Boebert contributed, “It’s not looking good for them. You know, they’re asking for their preemptive pardon. So it kind of sounds suspect and guilty. I think anybody who has politically imprisoned American citizens and completely ruined their lives needs to be investigated," but Scarborough cut her off quickly after she mentioned the controversial Colorado Republican's name.

'A massive scam': Millions of dollars in fraud found at ‘New Jersey’s worst nursing home’

The owner and operators of a South Jersey nursing home pocketed millions of dollars in Medicaid money while its 110 residents lived in a dirty, understaffed facility, a scheme that went unnoticed for years by the state agencies tasked with oversight, the state Comptroller’s Office has found.

Acting state Comptroller Kevin D. Walsh said Thursday that his Medicaid fraud team first began looking into South Jersey Extended Care, a for-profit nursing home in Bridgeton, because it was the state’s worst, having received more one-star ratings than any of New Jersey’s roughly 350 nursing homes.

'Wow, that's a hell of a confession': MSNBC host nails GOP's Comer for jail threat

Comments made by House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) noted in a recent Bulwark report drew a scathing response from "Morning Joe" co-host Joe Scarborough on Thursday morning.

Discussing Donald Trump's desire to have lawmakers who investigated him over the Jan 6 insurrection hauled in and prosecuted, Comer claimed they were fair game.

According to the Bulwark, the Republican from Kentucky replied, "With politicians, if you’ve used a congressional committee and you’ve lied and tried to set people up and falsely imprisoned people, then you should be held accountable."

After co-host Mika Brzezinski read the quote, MSNBC's Scarborough pounced.

"Wow. I mean that's a hell of a confession by James Comer who lied repeatedly, repeatedly, about Joe Biden," he exclaimed.

"Is he going to send himself to jail? Is that what he is telling us right here," he asked with tongue in cheek.

Co-host Brzezinki carried on, reporting that Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) agreed with Comer, adding, "If they broke the law, then they should [be imprisoned]. Now we know that they’ve manipulated evidence, so—if that’s the case, then absolutely.”
