Hegseth to sit for Fox News interview as he tries to rescue Pentagon nomination: report

Fox News personality Pete Hegseth is set to sit for an interview with his own network Wednesday as he tries to rescue his embattled nomination to serve as President-elect Donald Trump's secretary of defense, CNN's Kaitlan Collins reported on Tuesday evening.

"In a sign of how seriously the Trump transition team is viewing Republican senators' concerns about Pete Hegseth, he is expected to sit for an interview with Fox News tomorrow, I'm told by multiple people," Collins posted to X. "That's notable given most (if not all?) of Trump's Cabinet picks have been told not to do media until after they are confirmed."

Ex-Fox News host floats 'slam dunk' for Trump if Pentagon chief pick fails

A former Fox News host suggested an idea Tuesday night on CNN to President-elect Donald Trump, should Trump's embattled nomination for Pentagon chief fall through.

Trump tapped Pete Hegseth, a Fox News weekend co-host, for defense secretary. Hegseth's selection faced intense scrutiny over his qualifications, and later over revelations that he was accused in 2017 of rape. On Tuesday, a report surfaced that his Fox News colleagues smelled alcohol on him before going on the air more than a dozen times.

'Prepare for real justice': MAGA senator issues threat to DOJ and FBI

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) sent a threatening message to the Justice Department and the FBI, warning them to preserve all documents from the Biden administration — and warning them that "accountability is coming" under the second Trump administration.

"Under your leadership, the DOJ and FBI have engaged in unprecedented abuses of the justice system — ranging from the criminal prosecution of President-elect Trump to bad-faith prosecutions of pro-life Americans for peacefully protesting abortion, and attempts to recruit undercover informants in Catholic parishes," Hawley wrote. "This is a sordid track record, and the American people deserve the truth about how it happened and who was involved."

Rudy Giuliani misses court-mandated deadline to respond to contempt motion: report

Embattled Donald Trump ally Rudy Giuliani missed a deadline to reply to a motion arguing he should be held in contempt, according to a report.

"Mr. Giuliani ... was fully aware of Plaintiffs’ Motion for Civil Contempt, as well as the Court’s Order scheduling a hearing on the Motion for December 12, 2024," said a new filing to the court, brought by attorneys representing Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. "The Court should grant the Motion for Civil Contempt as conceded, should enter an order that Mr. Giuliani is in civil contempt, and the December 12, 2024 hearing should be narrowed to focus on the appropriate civil contempt sanction for Mr. Giuliani’s violation of the consent injunction."

Fox News host: Canada should be annexed for oil — if we can make them 'go along with it'

Fox News host Jesse Watters went all in on the idea of the United States annexing Canada on Tuesday's edition of "The Five," in a somewhat tongue-in-cheek endorsement of Donald Trump's efforts to bully Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In the meeting of the two leaders held last week, Trudeau raised objections to Trump's plan to impose 25 percent tariffs on all goods coming in from Canada, including oil — and Trump shot back that if Canada can't function without its current trade surplus with the United States, maybe the country should consider becoming the 51st state.

Trump's request for hush money dismissal — citing Biden pardon — wasn't for judge: Expert

Legal experts ripped apart Donald Trump's latest request to have his guilty verdict in New York tossed, in which he cited Hunter Biden's sweeping pardon.
