'Melting brain or melted soul?' Eyebrows raised over 'objectively insane' Trump post

One of President Donald Trump's latest social media posts alarmed a veteran journalist, who described the outburst as possible signs of mental infirmity.

The president bizarrely claimed over the weekend that Joe Biden might have been involved in placing 274 FBI agents into the crowd at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, which he called a "scam" that required action – "do something!" he implored in all-caps – and The Bulwark's White House correspondent Andrew Egger examined his statements.

The decision by Ivanka Trump to dip her toe back into politics by appearing at the Gaza ceasefire treaty signing on Monday — which she had nothing to do with — left one observer cold.

Mike Huckabee jams on stage to controversial version of 'Sweet Home Alabama'

Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, made a surprise appearance Monday night in Jerusalem – bass guitar in hand – to perform a rendition of “Sweet Home Alabama,” only with the "lyrics changed to push for Greater Israel,” reported writer Chris Menahan.

Huckabee was a surprise guest at the United Hatzalah Concert, a musical event celebrating the release of the remaining Israeli hostages earlier on Monday. Among the songs performed was a rendition of “Sweet Home Alabama,” a song famously written and performed by Lynyrd Skynyrd in protest to criticisms of the American south for its history of slavery.

'Doesn't sound like winning': Ex-Trump aide taunts Congress

President Donald Trump's former communications director warned that the ongoing battle between the White House and Congress "doesn't sound like winning."

In Tuesday's episode of "The View," the co-hosts addressed Speaker Mike Johnson's speech demanding Democrats stop their efforts to have healthcare subsidies attached to the government funding bill. He characterized it as "partisan demands" that are holding the government "hostage." Those subsidies are set to sunset at the end of the year, increasing the cost of health insurance for many Americans.

Glenn Beck boast accidentally exposes failure of Trump's antifa crusade: analyst

President Donald Trump has moved to designate "antifa," or the broadly-defined collective of activists fighting against what they perceive to be fascism in America, as a terrorist organization — but an intended boast by far-right podcaster Glenn Beck accidentally revealed the effort is already "falling apart," wrote Ellie Quinlan Houghtaling for The New Republic.

Specifically, Beck said earlier this week that FBI agents from the Trump administration came to his house to ask him about everything he knows about antifa operations. "So we dove in headfirst and we analyzed the antifa network," said Beck on his show. "To say the FBI was interested in this might be an understatement. Let's just say the FBI is turning over every single stone."

Critics fear 'head-spinning reversal' could burn down historic Supreme Court decision

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear new arguments Wednesday over Louisiana’s congressional maps. State Republican leaders now want to get rid of a majority-Black district they created, and the Supreme Court’s ruling could have national implications.

Attorney General Liz Murrill questions key tenets of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, a landmark federal law that has been amended multiple times over the decades to prohibit racial discrimination in elections. Watching closely are Republicans in other states who have pushed to redraw their congressional districts to improve their odds of holding onto U.S. House seats – and their majority status – in next year’s midterm elections.
