In addition to serving as a senior adviser in Donald Trump's first administration, Ivanka Trump often appeared at rallies during his 2020 reelection campaign. But four years later, she wasn't nearly as visible during the 2024 election — and now that her father is returning to the White House, Ivanka Trump is expressing no interest in having an official role in his second administration.

CNN's Elie Honig breaks down how Trump could still 'gum things up' over J6 report

President-elect Donald Trump could still "gum things up" to prevent the Department of Justice from releasing Jack Smith's final report on Trump's efforts to remain in power after the 2020 election, according to CNN legal analyst Elie Honig.

'Rash of infighting': Analyst sees MAGA factions already at blows over who has Trump's ear

Donald Trump hasn't even re-entered the White House yet, and some simmering MAGA feuds have already boiled over into public view.

The president-elect's first term was marked by disputes between the Republican establishment and his loyalists, and while Trump has largely taken full control of the GOP since leaving office four years ago, his orbit still contains discordant factions who have no natural alliances with each other, wrote Washington Post columnist Aaron Blake.

Senator suggests unusual interpretation of ‘advice and consent’ responsibility

A freshman Republican Senator is promoting an unusual interpretation of the Senate's role in the constitutionally mandated "advice and consent" responsibility.

U.S. Senator Katie Britt, elected in 2022, is the first woman Alabama voters have sent to the U.S. Senate. She gained national attention, and bipartisan criticism, after delivering the Republican response to President Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union Address. During her speech, Britt criticized President Biden’s immigration policies and referred to an incident involving human trafficking, suggesting in her remarks a woman had been sexually trafficked because of Biden's policies. However, as NBC News reported, the incident occurred two decades earlier, in Mexico, not in the United States.
