Arrested Biden informant puts a 'big dent' in Republicans' 2024 strategy: Ex-GOP lawmaker

The arrest of the Biden "informant" at the heart of the GOP's impeachment effort is essentially a death blow to the whole endeavor, former Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) told MSNBC guest host and former RNC chair Michael Steele on Thursday.

The informant, Alexander Smirnov, had told FBI agents that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter accepted millions in bribes from Ukrainian firm Burisma at the time Biden was vice president. But the FBI now admits to this being a fabrication planted by Russian officials.

Hunter Biden informant re-arrested after special counsel objects to his release

Former FBI source Alexander Smirnov was arrested for a second time Thursday for making false statements to federal law enforcement.

"YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED to arrest ALEXANDER SMIRNOV and bring him forthwith to District Judge, Otis D.
