'He's insane': Critics bowled over by Trump's latest 'stupid conspiracy theory'

All it took on a sleepy Sunday afternoon was an X post by Donald Trump critic George Conway, who posted a rant about Vice President Kamala Harris' rally crowds being "fake," to spur more concerns about the ex-president's mental health.

On Truth Social Trump wrote, "Has anyone noticed that Kamala CHEATED at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she 'A.I.’d”'it, and showed a massive 'crowd' of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN’T EXIST! She was turned in by a maintenance worker at the airport when he noticed the fake crowd picture, but there was nobody there, later confirmed by the reflection of the mirror like finish on the Vice Presidential Plane. She’s a CHEATER. She had NOBODY waiting, and the 'crowd' looked like 10,000 people!" before adding, "Same thing is happening with her fake 'crowds' at her speeches. This is the way the Democrats win Elections, by CHEATING - And they’re even worse at the Ballot Box. She should be disqualified because the creation of a fake image is ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Anyone who does that will cheat at ANYTHING!"

'Team Trump is flatlining — and they know it': former GOP official

After showing alternating clips of Donald Trump's rambling press conference and recent rally appearance and comparing them to clips of Vice President Kamala Harris exhorting energized crowds of Democratic voters, MSNBC host Michael Steele described the former president's campaign as being, in a best-case scenario, on life support.

Sunday afternoon, as he filled in for regular host Jen Psaki, the former chair of the Republican National Committee smirked his way through describing the current state of the 2024 presidential campaign.

"Folks, the spotlight and all the joy surrounding her is clearly driving Donald Trump just a bit crazy and he is getting desperate," he began. "Holding an hour-long rambling press conference at Mar-a-Lago and re-agreeing to debate Harris after backing out and trying to set the terms of the debate himself."

"He is getting defensive, resorting to his playbook of insults and name-calling, and rage-posting on Truth Social about crowd sizes," he continued before adding, "Here's the bottom line on all this: Team Harris is on the rise, Team Trump is flailing — I would say even flatlining."

"They know it and you and I know it," he added. "So they are getting real desperate, real defensive and real divisive but nothing they say, none of it is sticking. None of it is working and those crowds for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz? Well, they just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger."

Trump rages 'election interference' with claim Kamala Harris rally crowds are fake

On Sunday afternoon, rally crowd-obsessed Donald Trump took a shot at Vice President Kamala Harris by claiming the photos of the crowd that showed up for an airport rally was created by “A.I.’d.”

According to the former president who has watched the vice president passing him in the polls and in rally crowd counts, a "maintenance worker at the airport" turned her in.

Despite video from the rally showing a packed crowd at Detroit Metro Airport, the former president presented what he believed is evidence that the public is being been duped.

On Truth Social he wrote that, if true, it constitutes "election interference."

"Has anyone noticed that Kamala CHEATED at the airport? There was nobody at the plane, and she 'A.I.’d”'it, and showed a massive 'crowd' of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN’T EXIST! She was turned in by a maintenance worker at the airport when he noticed the fake crowd picture, but there was nobody there, later confirmed by the reflection of the mirror like finish on the Vice Presidential Plane. She’s a CHEATER. She had NOBODY waiting, and the 'crowd' looked like 10,000 people!"

"Same thing is happening with her fake 'crowds' at her speeches. This is the way the Democrats win Elections, by CHEATING - And they’re even worse at the Ballot Box. She should be disqualified because the creation of a fake image is ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Anyone who does that will cheat at ANYTHING!" he continued.

He later added, "EVERYTHING ABOUT KAMALA IS FAKE!"

'Has he met his boss?' Vance ridiculed after whining about Dems turning tables on the GOP

In a 2017 article published by Politico Magazine titled "Trump the Bully," journalist Jack Shafer submitted that Donald Trump's constant "insults exact damage by violating the usual comity that governs civilized life." Shafer added, "Like a Hell’s Angel, Trump transgresses for the pure joy of it, and he gets away with it because few possess the will to descend to his level and retaliate."

A Washington Post report published in February of 2020 titled, "Trump’s words, bullied kids, scarred schools," journalists Hannah Natanson, John Woodrow Cox and Perry Stein reported:

'Self-destructing' Trump looks 'weak' as Harris surges: GOP strategist

Reacting to the surging popularity of Vice President Kamala Harris and a series of unforced errors by Donald Trump, one Republican Party strategist warned it looks like the former president is tanking his chances of being re-elected.

In a column for the Charlotte Observer, South Carolina-based Matt Wylie wrote that Harris has given the former president every chance to derail her fledgling campaign but he can't seem to stop himself from following his worst instincts.

As he explained, "Trump, who sought to regain momentum at a Thursday news conference at Mar-a-Lago, seems to be blowing up his own campaign," before writing that his waffling on debates with the vice president makes him look like he has lost control of the narrative.

"Trump’s push to move a previously scheduled debate on ABC and his offer Thursday to debate Harris three times on three different networks seemed like desperate moves by a Trump campaign struggling to regain its footing," he suggested. "Unlike the July CNN debate, where Trump walked right into a lion’s den and took on Joe Biden, these stunts make Trump look weak and in need of help from a friendly network."

Having stated that, he wrote that Trump "seems to be self-destructing" because he's spending more time making personal attacks on Harris and not talking about issues.

"Harris has strong momentum and is moving ahead in some polls," he cautioned. "To stop them, Republicans must talk about issues and highlight their vision for America. In his press conference, Trump returned to discussing safety and security, inflation and high energy costs — critical issues that will resonate with swing-state voters. This is how we win elections."

How San Francisco’s political machine led to Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign

The political earthquake that has made Kamala Harris the Democratic Party’s nominee for president is a San Francisco story that began more than 60 years ago.

The cast of characters includes a chain-smoking, hard-drinking and profane political mastermind; a Polish Jewish activist who fled the Nazis and later became a member of Congress; a Black lawyer and civil rights activist from rural Texas; and the scion of a powerful political family who moved to San Francisco when she got married and made it to Congress in substantial part due to a deathbed endorsement from the refugee-turned-congresswoman.

Harris, whose first foray into electoral politics was in 2003 when she won a tough race for district attorney in San Francisco, and Nancy Pelosi, the longtime San Francisco congresswoman who was instrumental in persuading Joe Biden not to seek reelection, can both trace their political origins and their brand of liberal politics to the 1963 mayoral election in San Francisco.

Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has taken a surprising lead over former Republican President Donald Trump in three crucial swing states: Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

The survey, conducted from August 5-9, shows Harris commanding a four-point advantage over Trump in each state, with 50% support compared to Trump's 46% among likely voters. This development marks a dramatic turnaround for the Democratic campaign, which had been struggling in the wake of President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race on July 21.

Experts say Trump's vulgar insult for Harris 'not going to help him win more women voters'

Donald Trump was reported by the New York Times to be privately insulting Vice President Kamala Harris using vulgar and sexist language, leading to widespread condemnation and speculation from experts who say such attacks could cost him a key demographic.

According to the Times, "Indeed, Mr. Trump has often been in a foul mood the past few weeks. He has ranted about Ms. Harris. He has called her 'nasty,' on 'Fox & Friends,' and a 'b----,' repeatedly, in private, according to two people who heard the remark on different occasions."

'Disoriented' Trump alarming insiders and donors after 'series of damaging mistakes'

Since Vice President Kamala Harris has ascended to the top spot on the 2024 Democratic ticket, a "disoriented" Donald Trump has gone down a path of unforced errors and campaign mistakes that have both donors and his staffers worried he can't turn his fortunes around.

In a deep dive in the New York Times, Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan detail a series of meet-ups with donors where questions about the direction of the former president's third bid for the Oval Office are not being answered in a way that has created renewed confidence.

As the report states, at a recent donor dinner the former president met questions about what is in store now that Trump is facing a surging Harris only to be met with him telling them, "We’ve got to stop the steal,” to the dismay of some of his advisers.

In one instance, one longtime donor asked "how Mr. Trump planned to take the narrative back from Democrats, and what his positive vision for the country would be" which only led to the former president lashing out at his opponent and then adding, "I am who I am."

According to Haberman and Swan, Trump seems "disoriented" by his advisers over the fact that he won't be facing President Joe Biden in November.

"The fund-raiser came amid a stretch of flailing and self-harm that began after President Biden’s July 21 withdrawal from the race and endorsement of Ms. Harris to succeed him. Close Trump allies have described this as the rockiest period of Mr. Trump’s campaign, " they wrote before adding, "As Ms. Harris — long ridiculed and underestimated — has transformed the contest, campaigning energetically and drawing roughly even with Mr. Trump in many polls, Mr. Trump has responded with one unforced error after another while struggling to land on an effective and consistent argument against her."

One key problem with the Trump campaign is the fact that the candidate is ignoring advice from consultants who believe they have a wealth of ammunition to use against the vice president.

"Most of Mr. Trump’s top advisers have urged the campaign and the candidate to focus on the economy, immigration and crime — issues on which Mr. Trump’s message resonates powerfully with the so-called persuadable voters they are targeting. Sometimes, Mr. Trump has done so. Other times, he has not," the report notes.

Pointing out, "The people around Mr. Trump see a candidate knocked off his bearings," the Times report goes on to note that Trump seems obsessed that he won't be facing Biden before adding, "Indeed, Mr. Trump has often been in a foul mood the past few weeks. He has ranted about Ms. Harris. He has called her 'nasty,' on 'Fox & Friends,' and a 'b---h,' repeatedly, in private, according to two people who heard the remark on different occasions."
