Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) spoke on the abuse allegations against Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) Wednesday morning.
Johnson spoke with Politico's "The Conversation" and said, “It’s part of being flawed humans."
"We have to let those processes play out.”
Miller faces accusations of physically abusing his ex-wife Emily Moreno, including allegedly drawing a gun on her and scalding her with hot water.
Additionally, Emily Moreno's lawyer, Subodh Chandra, accused Miller's attorney of distributing a Dropbox folder containing an inappropriate image of their undressed toddler daughter, potentially constituting child sexual abuse material, Annie Karni of the New York Times reported.
Aaron Minc, Miller's attorney, subsequently apologized, according to Politico.
Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH), Emily's father, has called for Miller's resignation and accused him of withholding his granddaughter's toy rabbit.
“Look, I pine for the days when we don’t have these kinds of disturbances, when we got people who act in accordance with the dignity of their office," Johnson told Politico, "But people have domestic disputes."
