Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) angered progressives again Wednesday with his attempt to mock Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan, founder of Zeteo, telling a reporter he wanted to offer his "condolences" because Hasan was "all broke up about the Ayatollah."

Zeteo, a progressive independent media outlet and Substack newsletter, shared a clip on X in which reporter Prem Thakker asked Fetterman his thoughts on a U.S. attack submarine sinking an Iranian Navy frigate off the coast of Sri Lanka using a torpedo. It marked the first time since World War II that a U.S. submarine had sunk an enemy vessel in combat.

"In a disturbing series of group chat obtained by The Floridian, Miami GOP Secretary Abel Alexander Carvajal ran a group chat in which the N-word was used over 200 times and members celebrated the removal of an African-American activist from the FIU College Republicans," said the report. "Carvajal’s chat, titled 'Uber R------ Yapping Inc.,' gives a shocking glimpse into the GOP’s younger element of college students who espouse hateful ideas. Even more concerning are the chat’s members: Carvajal, who is Secretary of the Miami-Dade GOP; Dariel Gonzalez, who is the FIU College Republicans Membership Director; and Ian Valdes, the FIU Turning Point chapter president."

MAGA firebrand banned from every Waffle House in his red state

A MAGA Republican candidate for Florida governor claimed on Wednesday that he had been "criminally trespassed" by Waffle House after a series of campaign stops.

James Fishback, a MAGA firebrand who is running for governor, posted a statement on X that claimed Waffle House had revoked his campaign's "explicit" permission to visit their restaurants and meet voters. Trump demands end to Texas GOP runoff

President Donald Trump is threatening to cancel the May 26 Texas Republican Senate runoff between incumbent Sen. John Cornyn and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, demanding the race stop immediately. After neither candidate secured 50 percent in Tuesday's primary, a runoff became necessary. Trump, who didn't initially endorse either candidate, posted that the race "cannot be allowed to go on any longer" and "must stop now." He promised an endorsement conditional on the losing candidate immediately dropping out, effectively eliminating voter choice in the runoff. Trump boasted that his endorsements are "virtually insurmountable" and that he wins "by a lot, especially in Texas." The winner will face Democrat James Talarico, who defeated U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the Democratic primary.
