US hockey star claps back at doctored White House video

One of the stars of the U.S. Olympic men's hockey team clapped back at the Trump White House on Thursday after it released a "clearly fake" video with his likeness.

Brady Tkachuk, captain of the Ottawa Senators, told ESPN on Thursday that he "didn't appreciate" the White House sharing an AI-generated video of him from the 4 Nations Face Off last year, where the U.S. and Canadian men's teams fought three times within the first nine seconds of the game. In the doctored video from Thursday, Tkachuk was made to say, "They booed our national anthem, so I had to come out and teach those maple syrup eating f---- a lesson" while "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd played in the background, ESPN reported.

Trump warned voter fraud fight won't save him by ex-GOP insider

Former Republican strategist Rick Wilson gave President Donald Trump and his supporters a blunt reality check on MS NOW Thursday: Waging a fight about voter ID is not going to save you in the midterms.

The president has made passing an extremely restrictive election bill, the SAVE America Act, a top priority, partly because he believes — based on dubious logic — that it would boost his party in relative turnout, and partly because polls show it's an issue the public broadly agrees with the GOP on. But that isn't a magic bullet to solving the Republican Party's growing problem with voters ahead of the midterm elections, said Wilson — and Democrats shouldn't be so quick to compromise on it.

'Sad': MAGA buried over plot to cook up 'sham national emergency' to usurp elections

President Donald Trump's supporters handed him a 17-page draft proposal on how to declare a national emergency to seize control of state election administration, according to reports on Thursday.

Under the order, Trump would claim that China interfered in the 2020 presidential election, which would be used as justification for Trump to dictate how states run their elections in the midterm — presumably imposing by executive fiat some of the provisions in the GOP-backed SAVE America Act, which places several new restrictions and identification requirements on voting.

'Why not?' Boebert defiant over breaking big rule at Clinton's Epstein hearing

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who violated rules of the House Oversight Committee during its deposition of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and took photos during the closed-door hearing, shrugged off questions about it Thursday.

Lawmakers were meeting with Clinton in her hometown of Chappaqua, New York, questioning her about her knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and convicted child sex offender. Boebert, who is a member of the committee leading the congressional investigation, reportedly took two photos during the questioning, which were sent to right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson and posted on social media.

After a new Epstein-related accusation surfaced, Trump pulls disappearing act

MSNBC's Jonathan Lemire reported Wednesday that the White House is frustrated with Attorney General Pam Bondi's handling of missing interviews with a woman who accused both Jeffrey Epstein and President Trump of sexual assault. Lemire noted an oddity in Trump's schedule following his State of the Union address, observing that Trump has not appeared in public since the speech. He reported that Trump has "soured" on Bondi's approach, and her attempts at damage control have only worsened the situation. The timing of the Epstein revelations overshadowed Trump's State of the Union address, frustrating the White House. Lemire noted Trump has been urging the matter to disappear since last summer, repeatedly telling allies to stop discussing it.

Todd Blanche become latest figure questioned over missing Trump-Epstein documents

Multiple interviews with a woman who accused President Trump of sexually assaulting her as a child are missing from the Epstein files despite being listed on evidence logs provided to Ghislaine Maxwell's attorneys, drawing scrutiny to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. "Morning Joe" hosts criticized the DOJ's handling of the documents. Co-host Willie Geist highlighted Republican focus on Hillary Clinton's tangential Epstein connections—her name appears hundreds of times because Epstein clipped news articles—while missing interviews about Trump's accuser remain unreleased. Joe Scarborough called the situation "a farce" and "a cover-up," noting the DOJ was caught by NPR, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Jonathan Lemire pointed out the irony of DOJ impartiality claims while a giant Trump banner hangs at DOJ headquarters. Scarborough argued that full document release nine months ago would have ended the story.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), with an assist from controversial podcaster Benny Johnson, set off a social media firestorm on Thursday after they combined to post two pictures from Hillary Clinton’s behind-closed-doors deposition that temporarily derailed the proceedings.

According to CNN, Clinton briefly ended the questioning after the photos were spotted on X because it violated a privacy agreement with House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY), who refused to allow the hearing to be televised.
