Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) drew widespread criticism for visiting Mar-a-Lago three weeks after the Jan. 6 insurrection, and MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said his excuse for making the trip was "pathetic."

According to Liz Cheney's new book, "Oath and Honor," the recently ousted House speaker told her that he trekked to Trump's private residence on Jan. 28, 2021, because his aides were worried that he was depressed and had purportedly stopped eating.

Trump won't get pardoned in Georgia unless something goes 'off the rails': legal expert

Donald Trump and his lawyers are trying to delay his criminal trials until after the 2024 election when he could theoretically pardon himself as president, but one of those cases seems to be virtually pardon proof.

Right-wing attorney John Eastman, one of the former president's co-defendants in the Georgia election subversion case, wants to speed up the schedule for reaching a plea agreement, which MSNBC legal analyst Joyce Vance told "Morning Joe" is intended to delay Trump's trial and give his attorneys a preview of the evidence.

MSNBC's Mika sticks knife in Donald Trump's mental decline 'sarcasm' defense

After regular "Morning Joe" panelist Jonathan Lemire interrupted a discussion about Joe Biden's accomplishments as president to report that Donald Trump was defensively posting about accusations he is in mental decline, co-host Mika Brezinski smirked — and then shot it down.

In a rambling post early Monday morning, the former president claimed that when he mistook Barack Obama for Joe Biden, he was being sarcastic, writing, "No, I know both names very well, never mix them up, and know that they are destroying our Country. Also, and as reported, I just took a cognitive test as part of my Physical Exam, and ACED it. Also ACED (a perfect score!) one taken while in the White House."

Morning Joe shreds House Speaker Mike Johnson for trashing America as 'depraved'

'Americans need to see this!' Morning Joe calls for TV in Trump trial

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough called for Donald Trump's election subversion trial to be televised, but a legal expert said there are obstacles to putting cameras inside a federal courtroom.

Special counsel Jack Smith's office filed a motion rejecting an argument by Trump's attorneys to televise the trial, which had been requested by a consortium of media organizations, and a "Morning Joe" panel debated how and why the courtroom proceedings could be broadcast.
