Lauren Boebert suffers acute blood clot — is now recovering from surgery
Former Rep. George Santos (R-NY) took to social media to share his best wishes for Boebert, whom he called a dear friend.
"I want to thank god for the blessing he gave my dear friend," Santos wrote. "Lauren underwent a surgery and has come out on the other end of it and is doing well."
Santos thanked the medical staff who took care of Boebert, reportedly diagnosed with a rare vascular disease.
"It’s everyday heroes like these that we need to be thanking everyday," Santos said. "To Lauren and her family god bless you all and rest up because you have a lot of fighting to do!"
According to the Center for Vascular Medicine, May-Thurner Syndrome mostly affects women between the ages of 20 and 45.
In a statement from Boebert's congressional campaign posted Tuesday night to Facebook, Boebert said she expects to make a "full recovery."
“I want to thank Dr. Rebecca Bade and the entire team at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies for their great care and providing helpful insight on my recent diagnosis,” Boebert said. “I'm looking forward to making a full recovery and getting back to Congress to continue fighting for Colorado."
