'Lawbreaking cowboys!' Gov declares 'war' on GOP over 'stagecoach heist'

In strongly worded remarks, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) declared “war” in response to President Donald Trump’s demand that Texas eliminate Democratic-held congressional seats through redistricting. Refusing to let New York operate at a disadvantage, Hochul blasted Texas Republicans as “law-breaking cowboys” and vowed to work to dismantle her state’s independent redistricting commission so she could redraw the maps on equal terms.

Hochul met with Texas Democratic state lawmakers who fled the state to deprive Republicans of a quorum. Republicans are trying to vote on new maps that would likely boost the Lone Star State’s congressional Republican delegation from 25 to 30, reducing the seats Democrats hold by five.

Top Trump adviser breaks with boss over 'rigged' job numbers accusation

As controversy mounts over President Donald Trump’s indiscriminate, unilateral firing of the Commissioner of Labor Statistics on Friday, his top economic adviser, National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett—one of the administration’s most visible defenders—appeared to break with the President’s justification for the firing of Dr. Erika McEntarfer.

After being reminded that the markets believed the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ substantial downward revisions of numbers for April and May, wiping out a huge portion of any jobs gains, Hassett was asked: “Do you think we are starting to see a real slowdown in the jobs market?”

'Struggling' Americans are skipping meals — and blaming Trump: 'shocking' poll

With inflation and unemployment rising, a majority of Americans say President Donald Trump is to blame for increased prices and the high cost of living, as many turn to credit cards and other high-interest vehicles to pay for their purchases, a new poll finds. Some are skipping meals just to make ends meet, some spend time daily worrying about how they are going to pay their bills, and many are forced to turn to friends and family for financial support.

“American families are struggling financially, and 6 in 10 place blame on Donald Trump for driving up their cost of living,” reported progressive think tank The Century Foundation, with data from a Morning Consult poll that it sponsored. “More than half believe that billionaires, corporations, and congressional Republicans have made their lives harder,” while the “majority of voters feel the Trump administration’s actions are making their problems and anxieties worse—not better.”

‘Bring back Joe McCarthy!’ Fox News host melts down over surging ‘communist’ candidate

Fox News intensified its ongoing attacks on Zohran Mamdani on Thursday, as host Jesse Watters delivered a sweeping monologue accusing the popular but controversial Democratic mayoral nominee of being a communist, portraying his supporters as “radicals,” and calling for the return of an anti-communist crusader.

“These are the same dumb Marxist ideas that we’ve been hearing for decades,” Watters declared, “and it’s just destruction. At a certain point, you have to think, democracy is not a suicide pact, right?”

'It’s well past time!' Karoline Leavitt scolds Nobel Prize committee for snubbing Trump

President Donald Trump has long craved a Nobel Peace Prize and has bemoaned that President Barack Obama was awarded the honor, but he has never won. Now, it appears, the White House is campaigning for the President to receive, not one but two Nobels— one for peace, and one for economics.

In a rant during Thursday’s White House briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt tried to make the case, rattling off a list of his supposed successes.

Josh Hawley proposes $600 rebate checks — but not for ‘Biden voters’

U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) says the legislation he is filing to send $600 tariff rebate checks to Americans are not for “Biden voters,” but for “Trump blue-collar voters.”

“Well, you wouldn’t give it to everybody, you’d give it to the working people,” Senator Hawley told far-right podcaster Steve Bannon on Tuesday (video below). “You’d give it to our people.”

London mayor hits back after Trump's 'nasty' attack

Longtime London Mayor Sadiq Khan quickly returned fire on Donald Trump after the American President attacked him as “nasty” while speaking with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

“I’m not a fan of your mayor,” Trump told reporters in Scotland at his golf course during a lengthy sit-down with Starmer. “I think he’s done a terrible job, the mayor of London, but, uh, nasty person.”

Fox Host wants kids to pick blueberries as red states slash child labor laws: 'Rewarding'

At least half a dozen red states have stripped away some child labor protections, allowing children to work longer hours, or in hazardous jobs, or without parental approval, or without rest breaks. Now, one Fox News host wants children to replace undocumented immigrants who perform often grueling farm work.

Indiana, for example, has eliminated child work permits and is allowing 16 and 17-year olds to perform adult work with no permits—although minors, per federal law, are not permitted to do hazardous work. No break or lunch period is required, “regardless of the number of hours worked in a day,” the Indiana Department of Labor states.

Trump rebate plan slammed: ‘Like hiring someone to rob me, then giving a little back'

President Donald Trump says he is considering issuing rebate checks to consumers from the tariffs the federal government has collected. Rebates are a partial refund for the overpayment of taxes or if there is a surplus.

Trump made his remarks on Friday before heading to Scotland for a five-day trip to visit his golf courses. Both Trump and his administration have insisted that consumers do not pay the tariffs, but importers and retailers often end up passing most or all of the additional costs onto the end purchaser in the form of higher prices. Peter Navarro, Senior Counselor to the President for Trade and Manufacturing, has gone as far as to claim that tariffs are tax cuts.

Dr. Oz under fire after declaring war on the sick: ‘Won’t tolerate it anymore’

Dr. Mehmet Oz, President Donald Trump’s Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, declared that the administration will no longer “tolerate” what he called a culture that makes it “easy to be sick in America.” Framing childhood illness as a failure of parenting and physical activity rather than medical need, Oz linked obesity to national security and warned that industries would be forced to caooperate—or face government retaliation.

Oz—often called a conspiracy theorist who has been widely criticized for promoting “quack” products—appeared to endorse an authoritarian vision of public health, suggesting that under Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Americans would no longer be allowed to remain “sick” without consequences, and threatened industry with demands to either cooperate or face retribution.

‘I asked a direct question’: Fox News host calls out Trump official over Colbert ouster

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr declined to say whether President Donald Trump played a role in the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s CBS show — but hinted that media companies may be taking cues from the White House.

Fox News host Bill Hemmer on Thursday asked Carr directly: “Did President Trump have anything to do with the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show?”

‘Gonna be fun’: GOP senator teases political retribution for Dems

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) is joining a wave of Republican voices reviving criticism of the FBI’s Clinton email investigation—calling it “rigged” and saying it will be “fun” to watch Democrats “lawyer up”—as media scrutiny intensifies around Donald Trump’s ties to the late, notorious sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein and his refusal to release the files.

Fox News on Monday reported that the FBI, under then-Director James Comey, “botched” the Clinton emails investigation in 2016, citing a press release from U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA).

Never mind rising costs — Trump's 'leadership’ is making prices drop: Advisor

Prices across a wide range of sectors have been rising, and economists expect that once President Donald Trump’s tariffs fully go into effect, the increase may be substantial. But according to one top Trump official, prices are dropping. He credits “patriotism” and the President’s “leadership.”

“Economists, researchers and analysts have warned that President Donald Trump’s sweeping trade policy of tacking steep tariffs on most goods that come into America will deliver a taxing blow to consumers via higher prices,” CNN reported last week, while noting that “recent months’ economic data has shown that overall inflation has remained fairly tame.”
