Former Vice President Mike Pence joined the chorus of concern by turning against President Donald Trump's murky Iran war deal.

During an appearance on CNN with Kaitlan Collins, Pence spoke about the deal, which is already being attacked by GOP senators and experts alike, and described it as "much bigger than a mistake."

Pence decried that Trump gave a "lifeline" to Iran based on what he's heard about the deal so far. The details of the deal still haven't been publicly released, but Pence was concerned by what he's already heard....

"What's your relationship with him like now?" local news anchor Roop Raj asked Pence at the Mackinac Policy Conference this week. "When's the last time you picked up the phone and said, 'Hi, President Trump, it's Mike?'"

Former Vice President Mike Pence broke with the Trump administration Sunday over the $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund, calling it a "deeply offensive" and a "bad idea" and urging the White House to abandon it entirely.

Pence made the remarks in an interview with NBC News' Meet the Press, where he said he would encourage the Trump administration to drop the fund, which is designed to compensate people who claim they were unfairly investigated or prosecuted by the government — including those who attacked police officers during the January 6, 2021 assault on the U.S. Capitol.

The fund has faced mounting legal and political opposition since its creation. Courts have moved aggressively against it in recent days, with a federal judge in Florida reopening the underlying IRS case after 35 bipartisan former federal judges called the settlement a "fraud on the court," and a separate judge in Virginia issuing a temporary restraining order blocking the fund from operating while litigation proceeds....

Mike Pence faced some pushback on CNN in his defense of President Donald Trump's policy priorities.

Trump's former vice president appeared Wednesday morning on "CNN News Central" to promote his new book, "What Conservatives Believe: Rediscovering the Conservative Conscience," and he justified some of the president's policies, including tariffs, that he personally did not support.

"Look, the president comes by his support for tariffs honestly," Pence said. "I mean, he has supported broad-based tariffs throughout his career. Now, during our administration, we use tariffs as a means of leverage, the threat of tariffs. That's how we renegotiated NAFTA, that's how we we renegotiated a trade deal with South Korea, and we're working on trade deals around the world before we left office. But this administration is different with the 'liberation day' tariffs against friend and foe alike. The Supreme Court turned them back."...

A fired CIA officer revealed a detail that stunned a CNN anchor during an interview about the Trump administration.

Decorated former CIA officer Julia Curlee told CNN anchor Dana Bash in an interview on Tuesday that the Trump administration fired her shortly after she was called out publicly for being trans. However, what caught Bash by surprise was Curlee's account of how they asked her to return immediately after firing her.

"Laura Loomer had demanded my identity," Curlee said, detailing how the incident unfolded after the right-wing influencer "asked for someone to reveal [Curlee's identity] to the world so that we could drive out this trans Biden holdover."...
